ASSESSMENT
• OBJECTIVES
- Students may show their comprehension of the application topics in
Calculus 1 as manifested by their own way of explaining the solution to
chosen problems
- Students can be exposed to various problems associated to the
application topics in Calculus 1
- Encourage teamwork and collaborative spirit among students
- Students can manifest both their creativity and systematic way of solving
and presenting solutions to problems
- Students can show their written communication skills
DETAILS ABOUT THE SUMMATIVE
ASSESSMENT
• It will be done in two parts: Proposal and Summative Assessment – Final
Output: Digital Magazine
• It will be graded in the following manner
Proposal – 10%
Final Output – 90%
• Due Date for Proposal – November 12, 2021
• Due Date for Final Output – January 29, 2022
• For this output, you will be formed into groups of 5 to 6 members.
• As a group, you need to discuss and solve 1 word problem each under
any 3 different application topic in Calculus 1.

PROPOSAL FORM
- Meet/Chat as a group and accomplish the proposal form.
- Here, you need to think of a title (preferably creative and unique) of
your work
- Identify the topics that you intend to work on.
- Write your motivation for choosing the topics
- Give assignments to each member
- NOTE: A soft copy of the proposal form will be provided in the
schoolbook and MS Teams.
Here is how the form will look like. NOTE: A soft copy of the proposal form will be provided in the
schoolbook/MS Teams which you may download, fill and submit. A Dropbox for submission will be made in
Schoolbook Due: Nov 12, 2021.
FINAL OUTPUT (DIGITAL MAGAZINE)
CONTENT
• You have the creative freedom in how you will present or lay-out your work so long as it includes the
following:
Required Component for each topic:
- TITLE of your work
- The REQUIRED COMPONENTS for each topic chosen
(see box on the right)
- PERSONAL INSIGHTS composed by each member
(This would include each member’s views about the
subject, learnings, problems encountered, etc.
Limit to 3-5 sentences only.)
- References used

• A Dropbox for submission will be made in Schoolbook. Due: January 29, 2022
NOTE:
• If the problem is taken from a book or online source, make sure that you
change the situational settings and/or the given values. Indicate the source
(book title or website, chapter, section and page number)
• You may accomplish your work using your preferred application or software
such as Power Point, Word, Publisher, Sway, Canva, etc.
RUBRIC FOR GRADING
Your final work will be graded according to the following:

1. Lay-out/Presentation
2. Accuracy and Correctness of Computations
3. Completeness
4. Creativity
5. Over-all Quality

Each criterion will be scored from 6 to 10. Hence, a submission would guarantee a
passing mark so long as each of these are satisfied or are observed.
