STARS AND SPACE

Group 7
Lets go on a journey and explore a stars life
from birth to death
`
Now lets take a tour on the virtual gallery
to see what happens in these lifestages
of a star.

NEBULA
A nebula can be said
as an interstellar cloud
of dust and gases such
as hydrogen and helium.
Most nebulae are of vast size
, some are even hundreds of
light years in diameter

Nebula – The parent of a Star
Nebulae can be said as the
parent of a star as the gases
in a nebula come together
to form a dense body A star forming
which later forms a star.
The gases and dust that
are left later form stars.

AVERAGE STAR
An average star, or
intermediate-mass star, is
a star with an initial mass of
0.5 to 8 times that of Earth's
sun. It spends most of its
time on the main sequence
as an orange, yellow, or blue-
white dwarf star

RED GIANT
When hydrogen fuel at the
centre of a star is exhausted,
nuclear reactions will start move
outwards into its atmosphere
and burn the hydrogen that's in
a shell surrounding the core. As
a result, the outside of the star
starts to expand and cool,
turning much redder.

PLANETARY NEBULA
A planetary nebula is an expanding,
glowing shell of hot gas
(plasma) that is cast off towards the
end of a low-mass star's life.
Despite the name, they have
nothing to do with planets, and were
so named because early
astronomers thought they looked a
bit like planets through a small
telescope.

WHITE DWARF
A white dwarf, also called a
degenerate dwarf, is a stellar
core remnant composed mostly
of electron-degenerate
matter. ... White dwarfs are
thought to be the final
evolutionary state of stars
whose mass is not high enough
to become a neutron star or
black hole. RETURN

Constellations
•A constellation is a name given to a group of
stars in the sky that make up a certain
pattern
•When the sky is clear these stars can be seen
What are from Earth without the use of a telescope
constellations ? •Constellation is a Latin word meaning “set
with stars”.
•astronomers use the term constellation to
refer to an area of the sky.
Examples of constellations
Ursa Major
Ursa Major is a constellation in the northern sky,
whose associated mythology likely dates back
into prehistory. Its Latin name means "greater
she-bear," referring to and contrasting it with
nearby Ursa Minor, the lesser bear
Orion

•Orion is a prominent constellation

located on the celestial equator and
visible throughout the world. It is
one of the most conspicuous and
recognizable constellations in the
night sky. It is named after Orion, a
hunter in Greek mythology. Its
brightest stars are blue-white Rigel
and red Betelgeuse
Cassiopeia

•Cassiopeia is a constellation in the

northern sky named after the vain
queen Cassiopeia, mother of
Andromeda, in Greek mythology,
who boasted about her unrivaled
beauty

- Albert Einstein
Er war ein deutscher Astronom,

ist eine Schlüsselfigur in der

Er war ein in Deutschland
