1. IMAN (FAITH)
Comes from the basic word al-amn which means peaceful and
there is no fear.
 In terms of terminology is to believe in Allah s.w.t. and His
apostle with the utterance of tongues and belief in the heart without
doubt.
 Faith is the integration between three things, namely believing in
the heart, confessing with the tongue and doing good deeds with all
the pillars and commandments.
 A believer is a person who does good deeds because charity
proves his faith. If not, then his faith is just a toy of feelings and
ambitions.
 Pearl words expressed by al-Hasan al-Basri r.a which means:

“It is not the faith with ornaments and ambitions but the faith is
what is firm in the heart and justified by deeds. Whoever says
(pledge) good when he does bad deeds, surely Allah rejects
his words. And whoever says and does good deeds, will surely
lift up his deeds”. 2
Example :
Six things are included in the meaning of faith:

1. Believe in God
2. Believe in all the angels
3. Believe in the books
4. Believe in the apostles
5. Believe in the hereafter
6. Believe in qada 'and qadar

2. ISLAM
 Islam in general is a religion based on monotheistic beliefs.

5. Pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj)

3. TAQWA
 Taqwa root word is Waqiya meaning protection.
 Taqwa is to act in obedience to Allah with light (guidance) from Allah.
 Taqwa is this God consciousness all the time.
 Taqwa can make a person perform amar ma’ruf and nahi munkar.
 Taqwa has three levels :
1. The first : Protecting the heart and limbs from sins and all forbidden
matters.
2. The second : Protecting the heart and limbs from dsliked matters.
3. The third : Protecting oneself from the curiosity and what does not
concern him
Example of Taqwa :
- Always do good.
- Be fair to everyone
- Keep promises
- Diligently give alms

4. IHSAN
 The word ihsan mean literally means doing the best, that is in a nice,

kind and beautiful manner.


 It also means doing good and worshipping Allah in the manner He
likes.
 Ihsan mean concerned with depth of faith and inemost attitudes.
 Moreover, it means unwavering fear of Allah and constant awareness
of his presence, watching everything one does.
 Ihsan two kinds.
1. That one makes deeds or moral and habits become good and
perfect in one’s own person.
2. That one deals with the other person nicely, decently and favorably.
