• Present continuous tense is used
to describe a continued or an non-
going action of the present.These
actions are occurring exactly at
the time of speaking. It is called
progressive tense because it refers
to actions which are currently in
progress at the time of speaking.

PROGRESSIVE
• Subject + verb to be + verb+ing

• She is eating fish.


Here is how we make the positive:
Positive Positive Short Form
I am sleeping I'm sleeping
you are sleeping you're sleeping
he is sleeping he's sleeping
she is sleeping she's sleeping
it is sleeping it's sleeping
we are sleeping we're sleeping
they are sleeping they're sleeping
It can also be form with a complement
• Examples:
• I am eating pizza.
• You are playing games.
• She is running in the park.
• He is traveling to NY.

• Interrogative in the present
continuous are also really,
really easy. Just like we made
the question with 'be' in the 
simple present , here we also
put 'am', 'is', or 'are' before
the subject to make a yes / no
question:
• Examples
• Am I eating chocolate?
• Yes,I am / No, I am not.
• Are you studying now?
• Yes,I am / No,I am not.
• Is he working?
• Yes, he is / No, he isn’t.
• For 'wh' questions, just put the question
word at the front:

• Why am I eating chocolate?
• Because I like eating chocolate.
• What are you studying now?
• I am studying English.
• When is he working?
• He is working from Monday to Friday.

• What is she doing?
• She is cooking lunch.
• Who are we meeting?
• We are meeting the boss.
