CVA’s Paragraph structure rules.
General definition CVA’s definition

Topic Sentence. It’s the first sentence of the body Topic Sentence. Same as in general
paragraph. Simply put, the topic sentence introduces the definition.
topic of the paragraph. A good topic sentence will be
broad enough to allow for explication but narrow enough
that it does not require a paragraph that is too long.

Supporting Sentences. They are the sentences Supporting Sentences. Six to twelve
between the topic sentence and the concluding sentence. sentences supporting the topic
The supporting sentences “support” the topic sentence. sentence.
That is, they explain and elaborate the point of the
paragraph. The number varies, depending of the topic.

Concluding Sentence. It’s the last sentence in the Concluding Sentence. Same as in
paragraph. It should succinctly end the paragraph and general definition.

Writing
• Write a short paragraph about a character that inspired you as
a child (for any reason). Remember to use a main idea,
supporting ideas, and a concluding idea.

E.g.: One character I liked very much when I was a child, was Yoh
Asakura, from an anime called “Shaman King”. Yoh was a very
easygoing person, with a quite personality. He had the dream of
living a peaceful life. Back then, I worried a lot about school and
everything, and I like watching a character whose most used
phrase was “It’ll be ok”. I learnt from him that worrying doesn’t
fix anything. So, Yoh taught me how to be more relaxed.
