 Like other distributed ledger technologies, blockchain is a

digital system for recording transactions and their details
(blocks) in multiple databases (chains) at the same time
 No central data store. Data is stored in peer-to-peer (P2P)
network systems
 Requires consensus mechanisms
 Data remains immutable
