CAREER RESEARCH PROJECT
Job Description
A Film Editor, or Video Editor, is
responsible for turning uncut footage from a
film shoot into a finished, cohesive final
project. Their duties include studying film
scripts and using them to guide scene
development, determining which camera
angles to use and coordinating sound and
visual effects in post-production.

Educational Requirements
Most editor positions require a bachelor's

broadcasting, such as communications.
Many colleges offer courses in
cinematography or video-editing software.
Coursework involves a mix of film theory with
practical training. Editors may complete a
brief period of on-the-job training.

My opinion over all this information regarding film editing is how important it is in movie making. It’s
what makes everything mesh together in a cohesive line that could only be possible with editing. The
skills required for a job can also be sharpened early on which will help me from a professional
standpoint. Generally, this career research project helped me understand more of one of my options into
what I want to make a living out of.
