ABOUT

• Eco-friendly shoes with an upper-body formed of


plastic materials from the ocean.
• In 2015 Adidas partnered with Parley for the
Oceans to turn marine pollution into sportswear.
• Adidas uses recycled plastic bottles as a
replacement for virgin polyester.
• Adidas is in the process of developing a 100%
recyclable shoe called Futurecraft Loop.
PROCESS
• It all starts at the beach. Parley and its
partners collect trash.
• Recovered plastic is sent to Adidas processing plant.
• Pallets are melted to create a filament,
then spun into ocean plastic.
• Recycled polyester uses less water, fewer chemicals

Adidas Recycled Shoes from Ocean Waste:


 Plastic waste in the oceans is one of the biggest problems our generation
faces.
 In 2015, Adidas partnered with the environmental organization Parley for the
Oceans.
 Their Goal?
 To turn marine pollution into sportswear. And they've made huge progress.
 In 2024, Adidas expects to make 20 million pairs of shoes with recycled
ocean plastic.
