1.2. SATYA NADELLA ’s biography
Satya Narayana Nadella was born on August 19,
1967. He is an Indian-American business executive.
He is the chairman of the board of directors and chief
executive officer of Microsoft.
Joining Microsoft in 1992, he quickly became known
as a leader who could span a breadth of technologies
and businesses to transform some of Microsoft’s
biggest product offerings.
In 2014 he succeeded Steve Ballmer as chief
executive officer and John W. Thompson in 2021 as
chairman.
1.3 Microsoft development
Microsoft is an American multinational corporation with headquarters in Redmond, Washington. The company was
founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen on April 4, 1975.
The company specializes in the development, production, sales of software copyrights and support on computer-related
products and services.
In August 2013, CEO Steve Ballmer shared his intention to retire. In its 14 years at the helm, Microsoft has done a
great job. During that time, however, Microsoft lost out in three important races with new companies: search,
smartphones, and social networking.

In February 2014, Satya Nadella was chosen as the company's third CEO. Bill Gates thinks "nobody is more suitable
than him to lead Microsoft". Many commentators also thought he would fail. But after 5 years Bill Gates is right in saying that
Satya Nadella is the most suitable person to take over Microsoft. From an outdated Microsoft, CEO Satya Nadella has
successfully revived Microsoft to become the world's most valuable company.

Recommendation
