Recount text is a text that telling the reader
about one story, action or activity. It’s goal is
to entertaring or informing the reader. We
can also state that Recount Text is a text
which retells event or experience
Sosial Function
The social function or the purpose of
Recount Text is to entertain To amuse or to
inform the reader about experience, story,
action or activity which happen in the past.

Orientation: it gives the readers the
background information needed to
understand the text, such as who was
involded,
where it happened, and when it happened

Sumpah Pemuda was a day that is celebrated as a
pledge of the nations the homeland Indonesia. This
oath was considered as a form of the spirit of the
Indonesian people in upholding the ideals of
Indonesian independence.
Event
The “Sumpah Pemuda” Congress was
held on October 27-28, 1928 in the city
of Jakarta. Then, the day was
celebrated every year as the “Sumpah
Pemuda” day. Several youth
organizations attended the congress
such as Jong Java, Jong Batak, Jong
Celebes, Jong Sumatranen Bond, Jong
Islamieten, Jong Ambon, and others.
Re-orientation
The expected results of the Sumpah Pemuda
congress were to formulate the homeland, the
nation and the Indonesian language. Later, this
formula was used as the principle of the unity of the
Indonesian nation.

The following is the full text of the oaths made by the youths: First: We, the
sons and daughters of Indonesia, acknowledge the blood of the land of
Indonesia. Kedoea: We, the sons and daughters of Indonesia, acknowledge the
unity of the nation, the Indonesian nation. Third: We, the sons and daughters of
Indonesia, support the united language, Indonesian. Before it was announced as
the Youth Pledge on October 28, 1928, there was history behind its journey.
Based on information from various sources, the Youth oath is the result of the
formulation in the Second Indonesian Youth Congress. The congress was a
major meeting in 1928. The meeting was attended by students from all over the
archipelago who were members of the Indonesian Student Association (PPPI).
The Second Youth Congress was held in three sessions in three different places.
Youth organizations present at that time included Jong Java, Jong Batak, Jong
Ambon, and Jong Islamieten Bond. The first session was held on October 27,
1928 at the Katholieke Jongenlingen Bond (KJB) building which is now called
Lapangan Banteng.
