New product development (NPD) is the process of bringing a new product to the
marketplace. Your business may need to engage in this process due to changes in
consumer preferences, increasing competition and advances in technology or to
capitalise on a new opportunity. Innovative businesses thrive by understanding
what their market wants, making smart product improvements, and developing
new products that meet and exceed their customers' expectations.
PROCESS OF NEW PRODUCT

• GREEN SIM CARDS AND TOWERS:A “green”
smart card inside a mobile phone which as
lower side effects, carrying an identification
number unique to the owner, storing personal
data, and preventing operation if removed.
• Our target market is mainly youngsters and
youths as they are the dominant users of the
mobile phones.
• The main aim is to develop sim cards with 5G
speed and to lower the effects caused by
normal sim cards and the towers.
STEP 1 & 2: IDEA
GENERATION &
SCREENING
The idea is to develop green sim card and
towers for the same .
The main idea behind this to reduce the
harmful effects caused by the emission of
radio waves.
These can cause adverse effects such as
Headaches.
Memory loss.
Cardiovascular stress.
Low sperm count.
Birth defects.
Cancer.
STEP 3:CONCEPT TESTING
• In this process our aim is to test this concept of green sim cards , so
for this around 10 youngsters are selected from each major city which
has more number of towers.
• The information is about the product is given to them to help them
visualize the product.
• Their feedbacks are taken into count for further development of the
product.
• This helps us in coming up with the final concept after taking the
feedbacks of the customers that is to be developed into product.
Step 4: BUSINESS
STRATEGY
ANALYSIS
The main strategy is to develop sim
cards with 5 g network speed which no
other companies has thought of it still
now in India.
The price of sim cards in India ranges
from RS 100 to RS 250, so cover our
initial costs our price ranges from RS
100 to RS 250.
The ways of delivery of the product to
customers is through personnel selling
as an initative by the company to get to
know about the benefits of these green
sim cards.
The other strategies include
promotional activities such as
advertisements, giving quantity gifts at
the initial stages.
STEP 5:PRODUCT After development of various strategies the next step is
to develop the concept into prototype.
For this purpose the concept is given to R&D or
DEVELOPMENT engineers to develop them into a complete product .
These engineers develop prototypes that will satisfy and
excite customers When the prototypes are ready, they
are made ready for testing .
Before testing we conduct various functional tests and
field conditions to ascertain weather the product
performs safely and effectively .
If the product fails these functional tests then various
changes are made such that it satisfies all the functional
tests .
This process goes till it satisfies all the minor tests and
ready for the actual testing process.
STEP 6 &7:TEST MARKETING AND
COMMERCIALIZATION
• After functional testing ,the next step is test marketing , this is a
process where our product is introduced to more realistic market
situations . We plan our tests and conduct them selected geographical
areas and reactions of the customers are closely watched.
• The final step is commercialization where the product is introduced
into the market and flows into market for sale .This is a process where
various marketing mix are put together to get the maximum shares in
