Preventive Maintenance-Flow of cleaning
 Cleaning Steps:

 Disassemble the device needed to be cleaned if it’s necessary

 Use soft dry cloth or soft brush to wipe out the dust or stain

 Use soft dry cloth with a little soapy water(clean water) to wash out
remained stain (for interior structure, we should use soft brush to clean
it )

 Air-dry and install it back to the machine.

Preventive Maintenance-Clean the system or peripherals
 Clean trackball
Tool: soft paper or dry soft cloth, soapy water
Method:
Disassemble the trackball:
Rotate the trackball clamping ring 35 degrees anticlockwise. When
the clamping ring lifts, remove the clamping ring and trackball. You can
draw out the ball with the help of adhesive tape.

Preventive Maintenance-Clean the system or peripherals
 Clean trackball
Tool: soft paper or dry soft cloth, soapy water
Method:
Cleaning:
Clean the lens slightly using the tissue until there is no foreign
matter. Then clean the other parts. Make sure to exert force
properly when clean the small ball, otherwise, the small ball
may drop down.

Preventive Maintenance-Clean the system or peripherals
 Clean trackball
Tool: soft paper or dry soft cloth, soapy water
Method:
Installing the trackball:
Put back the ball, align the buckle with gap of the front cover,
press the clamp ring with both hands and rotate it 35 degrees
clockwise to click the buckle. At this moment, the clamp ring
cannot be moved any further, it indicates that the clamp ring
clicks in position.

Preventive Maintenance-Clean the system or peripherals
 Clean control panel
Tool:
Dry soft cloth, soapy water
Method:
Use dry soft cloth to clean the surface of control panel (including keystrokes,
encoders and sliders). If the control panel is dirty, moisten the soft cloth with a little
mild soapy water and wipe off any stains. Use another dry soft cloth to remove any
moisture and allow all hard surfaces to completely air-dry. If it is difficult to clean
the control panel, disassemble the encoder caps first and then use mild soapy water to
clean it.
Note:
Keyboard on the control panel should be cleaned periodically; otherwise, keys maybe
blocked by dirt and buzzer dings, keys don’t work.

Preventive Maintenance-Clean the system or peripherals
 Recommended frequency of cleaning

No. Content Frequency

1 Clean monitor Once a month

2 Clean trackball Once a month

3 Clean control panel Once a month

4 Clean probes (the head) Every time after using

5 Check power cable Once a month

For peripherals such as printer, foot switch, bar code scanner, you
can do the cleaning maintenance according to the service manual if
it’s necessary.

Preventive Maintenance-General Check

When we do preventive maintenance, we usually will visual inspection the

probe, power supply cord, AC adapter, batteries (options) to see whether they
are in normal status.

For detailed steps, please refer to service manual.

Preventive Maintenance-System Function Check

The system function checking is not required during Preventive Maintenance.

Engineer or customer may use it as part of product Quality Assurance
Program tests .

Usually, we will check the LCD, keyboard, B\C\Doppler\M mode status,

measurement, software menu and so on.

For detailed steps, please refer to service manual.
