VERSIFICATION

OF POEM
Chapter- The Last Lesson
-Alphonse Daudet
By- Samyak, Arjun, Danish, Sophia & Dhiren.
It was a warm, bright and cheerful day
I didn't want to go school but just play
Tried to sneak in the class
But M.Hamel saw me alas

And there he was dressed in his Sunday best

As he set out to finish his last quest
While the rest of the class sat there surprised
It was their last lesson in French they soon realised

All the things he would have given up

to recite those words without messing up
yet M Hamel did not scold him
instead he told him
by putting his work off
he had suffered a great loss
He went on to talk about the most beautiful French language before he dutifully packed his baggage
Franz listened so carefully like never before,
M. Hamel wanted to give it his all,
before he left once and for all.

M Hamel would miss it all

He knew his garden would be missed
As he heard the trumpet call
He silently gestured "school is dismissed"
