SARKAR RAJ
Introduction
 Power is a tool which can be used to
influence individual/groups in different
situations for achieving results
 Power is used as a tool in society to get
work done in various forms. Their various
power tactics which are used to achieve
goals.
 Sarkar Raj is an intense political drama and is
essentially a study of power; it explores the politics of
development and takes a fresh look at the tradition
versus modernity debate

 When Anita Rajan (Aishwarya Rai - Bachchan), CEO

of Sheppard power plant, an international Company,
brings a power plant proposal to set up in rural
Maharashtra before the Nagres, insightful Shankar
(Abhishek Bachchan) is quick to realize the benefits the
power plant can bring to the people. After convincing
Sarkar (Amitabh Bachchan) who is against it for
various reasons, Shankar undertakes a journey along
with Anita to the villages of Maharashtra to mobilize
support from the masses.
 However, things are not what they seem to
be and Shankar's dream project gradually
becomes a political minefield. It is in this
backdrop the evil forces mightier than
ever, mushroom and gang up to bring
down the regime of Sarkar and obliterate
Shankar's name from the political horizon
Sarkar Raj is an exemplary movie which showcases
human behavior in power. The characters in the
movie portray various facets of human behavior like
aggressiveness, subduedness,binding etc in nature.
The few characters which are portrayed in movie are
 Sarkar
 Shankar Nagre
 Rao Saab
 Soam Ji
 Anita………..
 The movie gives us a glimpse of use of power
to obtain results in todays modern world.
 It lays great emphasis on view
points/perception motives of individuals than
on merits of any goal to be achieved.
 The various Leadership skills have been
shown in the movie which can be discussed as
 Carrot and Stick
 Sound Reasoning
 Trust and Involvement
 Shared Enthusiasm
 There are various characters which give us
a learning on where we fail to identify
small problems despite the fact they are in
front of us.
 The downfall of Sarkar and Shankar
Nagre was not attributed to the strength of
enemies and critics but to the self belief
and complicancy of his fellow
counterparts.
 It was the passion , sense of vision and
attitude which brought the down fall of
family of Sarkar.
 Reasons For Downfall
 Belief on Guruji Rao Saab of Sarkar
 Mistrust of Sankar Nagre on Chander
 Ignorance of facts
Manager’s Perspective
 As in organizations humans work as teams
with the people and for the people. It
becomes imperitive to understand the context
of the situation when we are working
as/with team members in a team and cross
verticals because the solution lies besides the
problem but we fail to focus on the available
facts and feedback/ideas. This movie clearly
indicates that the team members are valuable
and the activity of counter members is to be
observed with necessary anticipation of
opportunities and threats
