goods and services that address human wants.
Resources can be classified into three types; Natural,
human and capital resources.
TYPES OF NATURAL RESOURCES

1. Land Resources
2. Forest Resources
3. Water Resources
4. Energy Resources
5. Mineral Resources
LAND RESOURCES
The total land area of the
Philippines is about 30 million
hectares if 300,000 square
kilometers. The Philippines is
made up of different landforms
like mountains, plains, hills,
plateaus, and islands.

surroundings.
• Although forest area in the Philippines
is vast, it is facing rapid degradation
and depletion.
• Human activity is said to be the
primary cause of this alarming trend.
WATER RESOURCES
• The Philippines is one of the
countries included in the CORAL
TRIANGLE. It is abundant in coral
reefs and mangroves that serves as
habitat for fishes and other water
organisms. The country is rich in
water resources consisting of
different bodies of water  Some of these problems are the
following:
• Our water resources are facing • Destruction of Coral Reefs
various problems and are in danger • Pollution
of being depleted if the problems are • Mining
not addressed properly.  • Degradation of Riverbanks and
Lakeshores

resources used for obtaining the
energy sources that power the
operations of firms in various
industries. The Philippines use
various forms and sources of
energy.

• Solar
• Geothermal
• Wind
• Coal
MINERAL RESOURCES

are raw materials needed in the production of goods. Also, the mining industry
provides employment opportunities to many Filipinos
