ETwinning Platform

(English language)
ETwinning platform is available to teachers who can create their own projects, organize activities on
different topics about school subjects or on multidisciplinary or current issues, and key competences.
Moreover, you can start a project at any time of the year. ETwinning is a flexible platform whereby
projects can vary by topic, subject and number of partners, in fact, there is no ideal number of
partners participating in a project. The first thing to do is to type the application name.
In order to join the portal, the second step is to click on the application, and then click on
'Registration'.
You will see the pre-registration screen, where we are asked to fill in some compulsory basic
personal details: name, surname, e-mail address, user name and password
After the registration, you can enter the eTwinning platform, but every time you can add your
username and password.
Now I am an eTwinner and I can collaborate with partners and meet them in a virtual way. I can add
foreign partners and colleagues from my school, even after the project has started. Furthermore, I
can simultaneously found or participate in several eTwinning projects. To create a project, two
eTwinners are enough, which must be the contact of each other, not necessarily from two different
countries, it is important to agree on the contents and the procedures.
After the log in, I enter the eTwinning live. Here there is the menu: people, events, projects,
groups, partners forum, professional development. The arrows show projects and groups. If I click on
projects, I can find all the projects I am partecipating in and, more important, there is the option to
search a project suitable for my class. Groups means the group I am sharing.
Here an example of a registered project on the platform. To be registered, a project passes to the
approval of the National Unit (in the case of a national project) or of the National Units of the
countries of the two founders (in the case of a European project).
To access the TwinSpace I just go to the Projects section of eTwinning Live, then I choose one of
my active project. The TwinSpace is used by eTwinners to collaborate.
The TwinSpace is a private space accessed by founders, partners, students, if invited, and any
visitors, if invited. It offers a series of tools to be used such as internal mail, pages, forums, chats,
archive of multimedia materials, which is managed by the teacher administrators. Teachers
administrators can decide the visibility of the contents.
Now I am in the HOME page of an active twinspace project. On the top left side there is a square,
click on it to go over the portal. On the right side there is the language I use in my project, to change
it I can click on it. Then, there are three buttons, the email button, the notification button and the
profile button. Under the box, there is the title and the description of the project. Under the
description of the project I can edit materials of the project, uploading them in «materials», and put
them on my folder.
When I click on PAGES, I find different chapters on the left side, it means information about the
project. In the slide I show a page and on the right there is a pencil. If I click on the pencil, I open the
page and I find another pencil, if I click on the second pencil I can edit the page itself.
Students and visitors access the TwinSpace by entering the personal credentials provided by the
TwinSpace administrators in the Login section of the www.etwinning.net portal or with the direct
link to the TwinSpace, and then they can start to collaborate on the project.
