Suzanne Saroff’

Suzanne saroff’
. Suzanne Saroff’ is a photographer who grew up in Missoula Montana. She
creates water distortion photos. She places glasses of water in front of
objects, and it makes an effect that the object is bigger just by the water being
in front of it. So it’s almost an illusion.
What does the photograph show?
The picture shows four different shaped glasses
filled with water. Behind them are a bunch of
oranges, some are stacked up on one another
and there are some on there own. My eyes are
drawn to the fact that the oranges are all different
sizes, I think this is done with the shape of the
glass As the round one on the middle left, the
oranges behind it appear bigger then the end
glass on the left, the glass goes thin then wider
therefore it makes the oranges appear smaller. I
like the fact that the photographer added different
shaped glasses as it makes the effect that the
oranges are different sizes but in reality they are
all pretty much the same shape and size.
Composition and camera settings
In this photo the photographer has probably
focused on the colour of the picture with the pink
background and the oranges. All of the picture is in
focus, so there is nothing in the photo that was
meant to be looked at/focused more on. your eyes
are drawn to the whole image. the photographer
probably took this photo with a shallow depth of
filed as the picture doesn't go back that far so
there in not that much background to focus.
