Nuclear weapon:
• A nuclear weapon is a explosive device that derives its
destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission or a
combination of fission and fusion reactions.
• Nuclear weapons provide countries help to strengthen their
defence.
First nuclear power country:
• United states is the first recorded nuclear power country.
• It deployed nuclear bomb only twice in WW-II against
Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
• Caused death of 80,000 people and caused long term
nuclear sickness.

Political founder of our atomic bomb:

• Pakistan begins its nuclear efforts in 1950s as an energy program.

• In 1956 Pakistani government created the Pakistan atomic energy commission ( PAEC ).

• Zulfiqar ali Bhutto is the founder of Pakistan's nuclear weapon program.

• In 1972, after separation of Bangladesh, he called a meeting in which he instructed top

Pakistani scientists to build the atomic bomb.

• “If India builds the bomb, we will eat grass and leaves for a thousand years,

even go hungry, but we will get one of our own. “ ~ Z.A BHUTTO
Technical founder of nuclear atomic bomb:
• Dr. Abdul Qadeer khan, is the father of nuclear
Pakistan.
• Dr. Abdul Qadeer khan was a German-trained
metallurgist working at the Dutch firm URENCO.
• In 1974, the course of Pakistan atomic bomb
drastically change with the return of A.Q Khan.
• DR. A.Q. khan left his job from URENCO after the
surprise first nuclear test of India in 1974 and joined
PAEC.
PROJECT -706:
• Although project- 706 (a name for nuclear weapon program) began under
PM Z.A. Bhutto, his influence was short-lived.

• In 1977, general Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq took power.

• Zia-ul- Haq not only kept the development of a nuclear weapons capability
intact but accelerated its momentum.

• During 1990s, Pakistan prepared itself of possible testing.

• PM Muhammad Nawaz sharif faced enormous pressure to authorize


nuclear tests after India conducted its second nuclear test.
Youm-e-Takbir day:
• The nuclear tests were performed at RAS
KOH hills in the CHAGAI district of
Balochistan province,
• By testing nuclear devices, Pakistan
become the 7th nation to publicly test
nuclear weapons and 1st is the Islamic
world.
• Pakistan launched 5 nuclear tests in
chagai-I at 28 may, 1998 and conducted
second test on 30 may, 1998 named as
chagai-II
Sanctions on Pakistan:
• After the nuclear tests conducted by Pakistan and India, United state immediately
both countries under a set of sanctions:
1. Suspend foreign aids.
2. Terminates sales of any military items.
3. Prohibits US banks from giving loans.
4. Prohibit exports of specific goods and technology.
5. Terminates other military assistance.
Affected the capital flows, the exchange rate, and aggregate GDP growth in Pakistan.
