Objective
• To know the features of induction furnace,
heat balance compared with low-frequency
induction furnace and high-frequency
induction furnace, and energy saving
measures.

Features of Induction Melting Furnace

• Heat efficiency is high.

• No CO2, Little smoke & soot.
• Little oxidation/contamination.
• Temperature control is simple.
• Installation space is reduced.
Heat Balance of Induction Furnace
• Total Efficiency

Energy Saving Measures for
Induction Furnace
• Improved Heat Efficiency by Improvement of
Furnace
• Improvement of Heat Efficiency in Operation
• Preheating of Material
Improved Heat Efficiency by
Improvement of Furnace

• Equipment Layout

• Frequency
Improvement of Heat Efficiency in
Operation

• Furnace cover should be closed as far as

possible.
• Molten metal should be held at low temperature
and in short time.
• Dust collecting hood.
• Cleaning of sand, rust and other dirts.
Conclusion
• Many features have induction melting furnace.
• Total efficiency of high-frequency induction
furnace is more preferable than low-frequency
induction furnace.
• You must try to improve heat efficiency in
operation carefully.
