DESIGN AND SIMULATION PROJECTIONS BY PVSYST V7.0
• PVSyst tool is one of the most accepted design tool for the study, sizing, simulation and data analysis of
complete PV systems. Solar Industry used this tool to generate the most realistic energy yield simulation results, which
are detailed in this report.
Simulation on hourly basis and detailed evaluation and consideration of different loss factors.
Most accepted and used tool to generate simulation results for PV systems, as the results are based on systematic and
refined approach.
Program with the most accurate results and functions available in the market.

ASSUMED PVSYST LOSSES JUSTIFICATION
Pitch 1.20 m Considering the water body usage and generation optimization, the pitch value given here came out to be optimal.
Near shading is caused by inter row distance and due to tall objects like control rooms and lightening arrestors. For shading from tall
Near Shading Loss -0.39% objects, sufficient spaces should be left by conducting a shadow estimation study so as to keep the PV array shadow free during
generation hours. The near shading loss due to inter row spacing is however determined by PVSyst as per the design pitch considered.
IAM loss accounts for losses in radiation penetrating the front glass of the PV modules due to angles of incidence other than
Incident Angle Modifier
-1.54% perpendicular. The loss figures is a module dependent parameter and is calculated by the PVsyst as per the module chosen and the
(IAM) Loss
change in tilt.
This is the loss due to dust and bird droppings on the PV modules depending on the environmental conditions, rainfall frequency and
on the plant’s O&M module cleaning strategy.
Soiling Losses -1.00%
A typical annual dust reduction factor considered for this project is 99% or 0.99 accounting for marginal 1% loss due to regular
availability of water so we can regularly clean module so the shading loss also reduce.

ASSUMED PVSYST LOSSES JUSTIFICATION
Mismatch losses represent the mismatch in current/ voltage of modules in a string due to statistical variations. Typically, the mismatch
Module Array Mismatch losses are considered as 0.5-1%. However, the loss can be reduced by sorting the modules as per current before factory dispatch.
-0.5%
Loss The modules will be supplied at the site with a 5-bin current sorting, which will effectively reduce the mismatch losses which will be an
added advantage.
Electrical resistance in the wires between the power available at the modules and at the terminals of the array gives rise to ohmic
DC Ohmic Wiring Loss -1.5%
losses (I²R).
Inverters convert power from DC into AC at a certain efficiency. This results in a loss of power during conversion from AC to DC. The
Inverter Loss during
-0.91% efficiency curves are inverter dependent. In our case, the inverters considered are 100 kW Sungrow inverters, which have one of the
Operation (Efficiency)
largest operational deployment in India.
This includes ohmic losses in the cable from inverter leading to the substation and depends on the sizing of cables during the design.
AC Ohmic Losses -1.50%
During the design of the plants, the AC cable sizing has been done in such a way that the losses do not exceed 1.0% in the AC side.
