INTRODUCTION
 Globally, cement production in accounted for approximately 8% of
total carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions

 Concrete has been an essential factor in the

exponential growth of the world’s major
cities and continues to be the product of
choice for further industrial expansion.

Ferrock is an iron-based compound made of 95% recycled materials that

have been proven to be less-expensive, stronger and more flexible in its
building applications than OPC

CEMENT
It has been called as the Foundation of
Modern Civilization. Portland cement, the
generic name that allows concrete to
harden.

Concrete is everywhere , in highways,

bridges , sidewalks, buildings of all sizes
and much more.

 Four billion tons of cement is

manufactured each year worldwide, a
half-ton for every person on Earth.

NEED OF SUBSTITUTE FOR CEMENT

 Climate change has prompted scientists to search for new ways to

reduce Greenhouse gases in all fields.

 Alternative to the unlikely cause of fully 7 percent of the world’s carbon

dioxide emissions.

 For every One ton of cement produced approximately 8 ton’s of

carbon dioxide is released .

 It’s incredibly polluting. Problem is we can’t really get away from

cement, considering we need it to build a whole lot of structures.

3 COMPRESSIVE SINGH, K. 2020 •With the replacement of cement
STRENGTH with ferrock it was found that
STUDY OF compressive strength of the green
GREEN concrete was increased, and
CONCRETE BY durability of the concrete was also
USING FERROCK increased.
•It was economical as ferrock is a
waste material which is available
free of cost, so it reducthe overall
cost of the work. Also, the Ferrock
has a property to absorb the
Carbon dioxide from the
environment so it is also reducing
the air pollution

TECHNOLOGY
INTRODUCTION TO FERROCK

 Ferrock is created from waste steel dust (which would normally

be thrown out) and silica from ground up glass, which when
poured and upon reaction with carbon dioxide creates iron
carbonate which binds carbon dioxide from the atmosphere into
the Ferrock.
 Made from recycled materials, Ferrock is a
strong, flexible and green construction
material that can be used as an alternative
to cement.

TECHNOLOGY
• By introducing Ferrock as a potential alternative to OPC for structural
applications these adverse environmental impacts are mitigated to a
fractional standard.
• Due to its unique and encouraging technical characteristics, its versatile
applicability and the respectively minimal impact it has on the 20 natural
world throughout the first initial stages of the product’s life, it serves as a
suitable replacement for Ordinary Portland Cement in the majority of
functional applications.

CONCLUSION
 It's a golden opportunity for countries like INDIA and CHINA as
being the global leaders in cement production to move a step forward
towards a greener and sustainable future by adopting FERROCK as
the substitute to traditional cement
 To save the environmental, FERROCK is the better partial substance
as replacement of cement in concrete
