C U LT U R A L AWA R E N E S S

Whatis it?
It refers towards how we respond to people who have different traditions, values,
traditions, behavior standards, attitudes, and norms than we do. Culture occurs on
many levels, from one's clothing to their demeanor and how they handle
themselves. Cultural awareness is more than just being aware of diverse cultures.
Being culturally aware requires people to take action and consider context while
interacting with others.

Types of Discrimination

• Victimisation - When someone treats

you badly or harms you because you
complain about discrimination or
support someone who has been
discriminated against, you are being
mistreated. Because the Equality Act
recognizes your fear of complaining,
you have additional legal protection
when you file a discrimination
complaint.
Types of Discrimination •
• Third Party Harassment - Sexual
harassment is described as third-
party harassment when it is severe or
persuasional, resulting in an abusive
or unpleasant work environment for
an employee. There are lots of
instances of third-party harassment
that can occur in the workplace.
Types of Discrimination •
• Direct Discriminantion - This occurs
when one person is treated less
favorably than another in a comparable
situation due to factors such as sex and
gender, age, nationality, race, ethnicity,
religion or belief, health, disability,
sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Types of Discrimination •
• Discriminantion by Association -
Discrimination by association refers to a
circumstance in which a person might
file a discrimination claim based on
another person's trait rather than their
own.
Types of Discrimination •
• Indirect Discriminantion - When a
practice, regulation, or guideline applies
to everyone in the same way, but has a
greater impact on some people than
others, this is known as indirect
discrimination. It puts you at a distinct
disadvantage, according to the Equality
Act.
The Culture of
language
•and•
Language of
culture
Language is a tool for communication. We use words, symbols,
and gestures to describe our sentiments, emotions, thoughts,
wants, and desires, among other things.

Learning about different cultures helps
us approach languages with new insight.
It allows us to dive deeper into the
meaning of words and expressions and
helps us feel more connected to each other.
Simply stated, language allows us to
communicate and exchange knowledge by
allowing us to convey our thoughts and feelings.
You won't really master a language unless
you grasp its culture, just as you won't
fully comprehend a culture unless you've
immersed yourself in its language study.
This is since language is always changing
and is heavily influenced by the opinions,
values, and conventions of its speakers.
