Reasons for having MIL
1. “Every citizen must be media and
information literate”;

2. in the 2010 UNAOC Global Forum, MIL

was identified as an empowerment
tool that facilitates the active
participation in the political process of
contemporary societies;

3. promotes a certain “participatory

culture” that empowers individuals to
get actively involved in democratic
societies;

widely accessibble;

gone from exorbitant down to
