available to the people of India in online mode, thereby increase the digital
literacy of the population.
• India needs to be a digitally empowered economy and in order to connect the
country virtually, technological advancements are must.

country so that the GDP and per capita income increases and the lifestyle of the
people also improves.

education, e-banking etc.
DIGITAL SERVICES IN
BANKING SECTORS
• Adoption of digitalization is very important for the banking sector. Digitization will mean
conversion of data into a digital format with the adoption of technology.

• By embracing digitalization, banks can provide enhanced customer services. This provides
convenience to customers and helps in saving time. Digitalization reduces human error and
thus builds customer loyalty.
• Today, people have round-the-clock access to banks due to online banking. Customers need
not store cash anymore and can make transactions at any place and time through ATM
services, UPI payments, NEFT transfers, online and mobile banking.
• Digitalization in Banks does not only reduces human errors and save time but has led to
cashless transactions which has reduced the circulation of fake currency in the market.
Thereby, leading to a positive impact on our economy.
Following Demonetization in India, cashless payments within one year
increased by 22%, indicating that Indians have been progressively
accepting digital payments modes compared to 2015.
