Grouping Symbols

• Bracket [ ]
• Parenthesis ()
• Fractional Bar /

- Always remove the innermost grouping symbol first


- To remove grouping symbol preceded by a positive sign, remove the symbol
without changing the sign of the terms inside it.
- To remove grouping symbol preceded by a negative sign, remove the symbol by
changing the sign of the terms inside it.
- Follow MDAS rule in simplification.
