•Definiton

Communication is the process of passing informtion from


sender to receiver. As many problems can arrives at any
stage of communication process which creates difficulty
in communication this is known as barriers of
communication.

Semantic Barriers

•Semanti barreiers means it is the study of meaning of words. Semantic barriers arises due
to problems in language. Languge is the important tool in the communication. It is also
called as language barriers.
•This are the following semantic barriers :
•1.Words with different meaning.
•2.Improper Expression.
•3.Technical Jorgan.
•How to overcome?
•The sendet should include proper meaning of the word if that word indicate different
meanings.
•Using simple and similar words for difficult words, So that it is easily understood by the
receiver.
•Proper expression of the word are required from sender.
•Avoid technical while speaking with common people.
Physical and Mechanical Barriers
•Physical barriers arises due to distance, noise deficts in the mechanical device used in
the communication.
•These are the following Physical or mechanism barriers.
•Noise defects. •Distance and time.
•Defects in mechanical device.
•How to overcome?
•The sender and receiver should change the place of communication to avoiding
surrounding noise.
•The sender and receiver should kept proper distance between them.
•Regular maintaince of mechanical device is required for smooth function of
communication.
Organizational Barriers

• It is barrier due to defects in organizational structure and the


communication system of the organization. • These are the
organisational barriers :
• 1.Long chain.
• 2.Improper Medium.
• Overcome from organizational barriers:
• It is necessary for reducing the levels within the organization.
• It is necessary to use suitable language or medium that are
understood by everyone.
Social and Psychological Barriers

• Social barriers :
• Social factor are the most difficult barriers to communication.
• These are the social barriers:
• Family background.
• Social environment.
• Education and exoerience.
The psychological barriers are also affected on the communication
process. These are the psychological barriers
1.Lack of concentration.
2.Justice.
3.Resistance to change.
How to Overcome from Social and Psychological Barriers?

It is necessary to improve the communication skill and presentation skill of the


person according to their environment situations. It is necessary to concentrate
towards message and also accept the change easily.
