    with an engineering base then Bio-Medical
    engineering is the opt course for you.

    Bio-Medical engineering in plain talk is the


    merger of biology with the field of
    engineering. Hence the student who have
    passed their standard 12th (10+2) or its
    equivalent with Biology as a subject of study
    with 50% marks are eligible for Bio-Medical
    Course Curriculum

    1. In first year syllabus for Bio-Medical Engineering the student


    study computer programming, Engineering Drawing among
    other such generic subjects.
    2. The second year subjects like Electronics Circuit Analysis and
    Design (ECAD) will tax a students brain. Practicals and
    vivas which are conducted for subjects like ECAD.
    3. The third year in Bio-Medical Engineering is a breeze.
    Subjects like Medical Imaging light up a students interest
    and imagination. Subjects like microprocessors and bio
    mechanics are of keen interest to any sincere student.
    4. The fourth year comes as a divine gift. The entire seventh
    semester is an internship ( 5 months of on the job training).
    The eight semester is mixed with academics and placements.
    Bio-Informatics

    Bio-informatics is also a new field of study


    under Bio-Medical Engineering . The field
    involves studying a large number of data set of
    numbers. In terms of research Bio-medical
    engineering has a lot to offer institutes like
    Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR)
    offer research projects in summer of every
    year.
