Setting Up of Resources

Learning Objectives:
At the end of the session, the participants should be able to:
1. Identify the different resources needed when conducting LAC
session;
2. Determine where to tap identified resources
3. Select resources needed in their LAC Implementation Plan
3

Question to Ponder;:

What are the types of resources

to tap when conducting LAC
session?
4

These refer to human resources

that the school may commission.
An example of these would be an
internal specialist or an external
resource speaker who is highly
knowledgeable on an intended
LAC topic.

5

These are resources that can be LEARNING MATERIALS

developed or are readily available for the
LAC facilitator’s use as reference in the
conduct of LAC.
There is a wide variety of learning
materials that may be looked into when
preparing for LAC such as textbooks,
reference books, curriculum guides, in-
service training (INSET) materials, web-
based resources, multimedia, among
others.

6

This refers to the monetary resource

needed to subsidize the purchasing of
materials and other necessities to be
used during LAC sessions.

Examples of these are bond paper,

marker, manila paper, and cartolina (for
BUDGET metacards). The fund is also used for the
photocopying of handouts, payment of
the resource speakers, and snacks for
the participants.
7

FACILITIES
 These resources refer to venues
and equipment that contribute to the
conducive conduct of LAC sessions.
Examples of proper venues are
conference room and multipurpose
hall. Projector, wireless internet
connection, printer, and laptop,
among others, are the most
common equipment needed.

Question to Ponder;:

Where to tap these resources?

10

Learning Resource Portal LEARNING MATERIALS

— is a web-based catalog and repository of

learning, teaching, and professional resources
approved by DepED.

It functions as a clearinghouse that provides

information about the location of learning
materials and allows users to directly access
digitized versions of such resources.

Curriculum guides as well other relevant learning

materials may be downloaded from the portal.
11

INSET / PRIMALS Materials LEARNING MATERIALS

— are handouts and guides prepared

by DepEd– Central/Region/Division
Office for the conduct of in-service
trainings.

A LAC topic on deepening what have

been learned in the INSET may be
included in the LAC plan.
12

Other web-based references

LEARNING MATERIALS
— refer to the wide range of resources
and tools that the internet offers and can
be explored and used as reference for
LACs.

However, because anyone can easily

upload and share information in the
internet, some of them may be inaccurate,
outdated, biased, distorted, or
misinformed.
13

Maintenance and Other Operating

Expenses (MOOE)

— is the fund allocated for public

schools that can be spent on various
BUDGET learning activities and necessities
such as the conduct of the LAC.
14

Developing Learning Materials

LAC facilitator can also develop LAC materials based on the available
resources.

Contextualization is the process of matching content and instruction

strategies to make them more relevant to the learners.

Localization and indigenization are the two levels of contextualization

that teachers can explore when matching learning materials to the LAC
learners’ needs.
