CHAPTER 1
• INTRODUCTION
• BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
• STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
• SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
• SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE
STUDY
INTRODUCTION
It presents the background to your
study, introduces your topic and aims,
and gives an overview of the paper.
BACKGROUND OF
THE STUDY
the background of a study includes a review of
the existing literature on the area of your
research, leading up to your topic.
STATEMENT OF THE
PROBLEM
A statement of the problem is used in research work
as a claim that outlines the problem addressed by a
study. The statement of the problem briefly
addresses the question: What is the problem that the
research will address?
SIGNIFICANCE OF
THE STUDY
The Significance of the Study presents the importance of
your research. It gives you an opportunity to prove the
study’s impact on your field of research, the new
knowledge it contributes, and the people who will benefit
from it.
SCOPE AND
DELIMITATION OF
THE STUDY
The scope and delimitations of a thesis,
dissertation or research paper define the topic
and boundaries of the research problem to be
investigated.
CHAPTER 2
• LOCAL STUDIES
• FOREIGN STUDIES
• RESEARCH GAP
• THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
• CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
LOCAL STUDIES
These are studies or investigations already
completed to which the present study is
related
FOREIGN STUDIES
These are studies or investigations
already completed to which the present
study is related
RESEARCH GAP
A research gap is a question or a
problem that has not been answered by
any of the existing studies or research
within your field.
THEORETICAL
FRAMEWORK
theoretical framework is the structure
that can hold or support a theory of a
research study
CONCEPTUAL
FRAMEWORK
conceptual framework is an analytical
tool with several variations and contexts.
CHAPTER 3
•RESEARCH DESIGN
•RESEARCH LOCALE
•RESEARCH RESPONDENTS
•ETHICAL CONSIDERATION
•RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
•VALIDATION OF THE INSTRUMENT
•DATA GATHERING PROCESS
•STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA
•METHOD OF SCORUNG AND
INTERPRETATION OF DATA
RESEARCH
DESIGN
is the framework of research methods
and techniques chosen by a researcher
RESEARCH
LOCALE
It describes in brief the place where the study is
conducted.
RESEARCH
RESPONDENTS
Respondents are those persons who have been
invited to participate in a particular study and
have actually taken part in the study.
ETHICAL
CONSIDERATIONS
Ethical consideration is a collection of principles
and values that should be followed while doing
human affairs
RESEARCH
INSTRUMENT
refers to any tool that is used by a scientist to
obtain, measure, and analyze data
VALIDATION OF
THE INSTRUMENT
validated means that the researcher has
come to the opinion that the instrument
measures what it was designed to measure. In
other words, validity is no more than an
expert opinion.
DATA GATHERING
PROCEDURE
the procedure of collecting, measuring and
analyzing accurate insights for research using
standard validated techniques.
STATISTICAL
TREATMENT OF
DATA
means to apply any statistical method to your
data.
METHOD OF SCORING
& INTERPRETATION
OF DATA
It's how you interpret the data and help people
make sense of numerical data that has been
collected analyzed and presented
