DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES
OF LRMDS COMMITTEE

Validation of LRMDS Manual of Operations


Travelers Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Zambales
Division LRMDS Supervisor
The Division LRMDS Supervisor should
1. provide access to LRMDS through:
 monitoring of LRMDS portal registration for schools,
district and schools division personnel for online access to
DepEd LR Portal;
 management and maintenance of Division Library Hub
/LRC facility; and
Division LRMDS Supervisor
 management and coordination in all operational activities of
the LRMDC including planning, budgeting, and
management of LRMDS Core personnel.
2. manage implementation of policy, standards, and
specifications of Division LRMDS through :
 Modifying specifications, guidelines and criteria for access
by the Division and school with the help of Manual of
Operations;

 Providing all personnel involved with LRMDS Implementation
process;
 Development and implementation of the Annual LR Strategic
Implementation Plan;
 Development and implementation of the Learning Resource
Technical Assistance (LR TA) Plan for procurement,
development and production based on identified needs
in the Division Education Development Plan (DEDP); and
Division LRMDS Supervisor

Provide technical assistance to schools to develop LR Plan


as part of the Annual Implementation
Plan (AIP)/School Improvement Plan (SIP)
3. monitor and evaluate Reports to Division access, use,
redevelopment and requests for LRMDS updates Review of
SIP/AIP

4. provide information and training on LRMDS


functions and services
5. provide trainings to LR coordinators, writers,
evaluators, illustrators, and layout artists in the
division
 
Learning Resource Coordinator
(LR Coor)

The LR Coor must be a teacher who has a positive working


attitude and willing to help/mentor other teachers related to the use
and access of LRs. He/She must be knowledgeable
in Microsoft Office, social networking, and
instructional/educational technologies. He/ She
must also possess organizational and communicative skills both
verbal and written in order to write reports and procedure manuals.

Moreover, he/she must have the ability to multitask and prioritize duties
which include the following:

1. maintain and manage the school Learning Resource Center (LRC);


2. organize and coordinate with the School Learning Resource Committee
(SLRC), School Development, Acquisition and Production Team
(SDAPT), School Quality Assurance Team (SQAT), School Storage and
Maintenance Team (SSMT) and School Publication and
Delivery Team (SPDT);

3. assist the teachers in accessing the DepEd LR Portal;


4. must be an active member of CSJDM Facebook Group in
order to update himself/herself in LR activities;
5. receive all LRs delivered to the school together with the
School Property Custodian (SPC) for storage and distribution
in the LRC;
6. conduct yearly inventory of stored Learning Resources (LRs);

7. serve as part of the School Planning Team;


8. identify LR needs and craft School Learning Resource Plan with
the help of SLRC and ;
9. submit 2 copies (school and division copy) of the School LR Plan
every last week of June of the school year;
10. serve as the Chairperson of the SQAT;
 
Learning Resource Coordinator

11. organize a quarterly evaluation of locally developed LRs in any
day of August, October, January and March;
12. organize school-based seminar/writeshop for teachers in the
development and evaluation of LRs;
13. submit yearly accomplishment reports of the utilization of LRC
 
Division Librarian (DL)
The Division Librarian (DL) must be a registered professional
librarian who implements, plans and direct the activities of the Division
Library Hub in coordination with LRMDC activities. He/She should perform
the following tasks:
1. manage the storage of LRs, TRs, PDM,s and maintenance of the
LRMDC;
2. announce the availability of new LRs for borrowing and reproduction;
Project Development Officer (PDO)
 
The Project Development Officer (PDO) must be a
Bachelor’s Degree graduate with Civil Service Eligibility and 3
years relevant trainings.
He/She should assists in the formulation of
plans/strategies/guidelines of specific section; participates in
project development, implementation and monitoring and
evaluation; and engages in financial and procurement activities of
the LRMDC.
School Librarian (SL)
 
The School Librarian (SL) must be a registered
professional librarian who will manage the library hub of
the school. He/She must have the inventory of all
books/references stored in the library hub. He/She should
also coordinate and support the programs and activities of
the LRC.
Library Hub Coordinator (LHC)
 
The Library Hub Coordinator (LHC) must be a teacher who is
duly appointed by the school principal and serve as a coordinator of the
school in the absence of a school librarian. He/She is responsible for:
1. preparing a catalogue (both hard and soft copy, including Metadata) of
all LRs/TRs/PDMs in the school library/LRC;
2. promoting reading to students through the use of school library/LRC;
Library Hub Coordinator (LHC)
 
3. borrowing of Supplementary Reading Materials (SRMs) in the
Division Library Hub in order to develop love for
books and habit of reading among pupils/students;
4. managing the distribution and retrieval of SRMs to be returned
in the Division Library Hub;
5. supporting LRC projects and activities.
Multi-Media Specialist/Information
Technology Officer

 
The Multi-Media Specialist/Information Technology Officer
must be a teacher who had attended relevant
trainings/seminars/workshops in Information Communication
Technology. He/She must be proficient in ICT, digital audio and
visual media and is able to bring words, sounds, photos, animation,
video, and graphics all together in a multimedia digital presentation.
He/She must be proficient in video and photo editing applications.
School Language Editor (SLE)
 
The School Language Editor (SLE) must be a teacher who
has specialization in English/Filipino Language and attended
trainings/seminars in language editing. As a member of SQAT,
he/she has the responsibility to ensure the accuracy of submitted
LRs before submitting to the Learning Resource Evaluators.

 
Learning Resource Evaluators
(LREs)
 
The Learning Resource Evaluators (LREs) should be
comprised of the LR Coordinator as the Chairperson, one Head
Teacher/Subject Coordinator as the Co-Chairperson, and two
trained teachers as evaluators. They must be teaching/handling the
subject area assigned to them for evaluation using
specific Evaluation Tool.

 
Learning Resource Evaluators
(LREs)
 
LREs are responsible for evaluating teacher-made
LRs which will be evaluated according to
Content, Format, Presentation and Organization, and
Accuracy and Up-to-datedness of Information.

 
Subject Matter Expert
 
The Subject Matter Expert must be the
Supervisor / Master Teacher /Head Teacher / Subject
Coordinator or any teacher who has expertise in his/her subject
area. He / She should focus on the content of the specific
discipline of LR upon evaluation.
School Property Custodian (SPC)
 

The School Property Custodian (SPC) should be


responsible for securing another copy of data of the
received LRs, TGs and TMs from the region and Central
Office.
