Explanation is a text which tells processes relating to forming of natural,
social, scientific, and cultural phenomena. Speaking of processes, this text
is almost the same as procedure text. However, if the procedure text
explains how / why to do something (process), this text explains how a
process occurs. That way, we can know that the explanation text serves to
provide information to the reader about a process.
 What is the purpose of explanation ?
Explanation text is to say “how” and “why” about the forming
of the phenomena.
Generic Structure of Explanation Text

General Statement
Contains general information about the topic to be discussed in the text.
Explanation
Contains a series of events (sequences of events) of a process that is the
topic of the text. We can also explain using the question why and how,
so that the explanation we convey is more comprehensive.
• Closing
The closing part is optional or doesn't have to be in this text.
This section can contain additional information or the author's
opinion on the topic discussed .

Virus corona (covid 19)
Corona virus or severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-
CoV-2) is a virus that attacks the respiratory system. This disease
caused by a viral infection is called COVID-19. Corona virus can cause
disorders of the respiratory system, acute pneumonia, until death.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), better
known as the Corona virus, is a new type of coronavirus that is transmitted to
humans. This virus can affect anyone, both infants, children, adults, the
elderly, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. Corona Virus – Alodokter
This virus infection is called COVID-19 and was first discovered in the city of
Wuhan, China, at the end of December 2019. This virus spread quickly and
has spread to other regions in China and to several countries, including
Indonesia. Coronavirus is a collection of viruses that can infect the respiratory
system. In many cases, this virus only causes mild respiratory infections,
such as flu. However, this virus can also cause severe respiratory infections,
such as lung infections (pneumonia), Middle-East Respiratory Syndrome
(MERS), and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
