Khorvaire

More on Khorvaire
 Khorvaire is the central continent in Eberron
and is therefore the focus of most Eberron
campaigns.
 Each region of Khorvaire is different and they
are all united by a shared history.
History of Khorvaire 2
The Age of Monsters:
After the fall of the giants, the lesser races enslaved they
eslaved were able to prosper.
On Khorvaire a great civilization of goblinoids rose which was
known as the Dhakaani Empire.
The nomadic orcs of Khorvaire also prospered, rejecting a
conventional civilization for closer ties to nature and primal
power.
A crisis arose and the Dhakaani Empire collapsed into civil
war.
Around the same time, many orcs withdrew deep into the
wilderness to found the Gatekeepers druidic sect.
Today, orcs and goblins are still a common sight in Khorvaire
and can be found in all walks of life.
History of Khorvaire 3
Current Age:
After the fall of the Dhakaani Empire there was a great influx of human refugees from Sarlona.
Humans landed in the east and spread westward, eventually dividing up Khorvaire into Five Nations.
One man eventually united the Five Nations, and named himself King Galifar.
The Five Nations became collectively known as the Kingdom of Galifar, but the identities of the people within
the kingdom were still closely tied to their nation of birth.
Khorvaire entered a “golden age” where arts and magic flourished. Mass transit was developed for the first
time and rapid communication became easily accessible.
In the 894 YK the last King of Galifar, King Jarot, died.
His five children, one governing each of the Five Nations, all desired the crown and the continent of Khorvaire
dissolved into more than 100 years of war.
In 994 YK conflict came to a screeching halt as the nation of Cyre was leveled in a magical armageddon.
Known as the Day of Mourning, the source of destruction is unknown but originated from the country itself.
The fear produced at Cyre’s self-inflicted destruction pushed the remaining nations into tense negotiations.
In 996 YK the Treaty of Thronehold was signed and all conflict supposedly ceased.
It is currently 998 YK, and the two years of peace have been fragile and strife-filled.
The continent of Khorvaire is on a knife’s edge; a single push and the Nations will dissolve into war again.
Until that time a Shadow War is underway. Each Nation seeks to get the upper hand through spies, sabotage,
and assassinations while slowly rebuilds an army.
The Nations of
At its height, the only land uncontrolled by one of the Five Nations was the
Khorvaire
territory beyond the northwest mountain range. This is not the case today.

During the Last War, many people saw the opportunity to remove themselves from the
conflict. Through rebellion or cessation eleven new countries have declared themselves
autonomous from the Five Nations. The current map of Khorvaire has 16 regions.
