ABSTRACT :
In industries, there are large numbers of huge machines
being used for various purposes. These machines are taken for
maintenance according to its maintenance period. These
machines are washed using high pressure washer to remove the
dirt, grease or any other lubricants or rust from its surface before
they are being worked on for maintenance. These pressure
washers removes large amount of dirt.
Washing the buses in our institute is a tedious job for the driver. Nowadays there are pressure
washers available which are used for domestic purpose. The technique used in this pressure
washer will be used to fabricate a portable car wash which can be used to wash the medium
capacity of buses of the institute. A suitable pump and motor unit is selected and along with a
tank so that the whole machine becomes portable to be carried to anywhere
INTRODUCTION :
Washing your car and bike regularly helps in retaining its integrity against the elements from dust and dirt that have accumulated to bird droppings and tree bark saps that
have found their way onto your vehicle’s body, these contaminants should be removed immediately. Now you can power wash your vehicle with our selection of the best
affordable and portable car and bike washer.
A pressure washer is a high pressure mechanical sprayer used to remove loose paint, mold, grime, dust, mud, and dirt from surfaces and objects such as buildings,
vehicles and concrete surfaces. The volume of the pressure is expressed in litres per minute, often designed into the pump and not variable. The pressure, expressed in
pounds per square inch, pascals, or bar, is designed into the but can be varied by adjusting the unloader
LITERATURE:
People have found ways to wash their cars ever since cars were invented. They either washed it
themselves at
home, or paid someone else to wash it by hand. Then, in 1914, two Detroit men opened the first car
wash
business, which they called the ―Automated Laundry‖, but it wasn’t really automated. It was basically a
pail and
sponge type of operation where the cars were pushed manually through an assembly-line-like tunnel,
Then,
whereinone
1951, Archie, Dean and Eldon Anderson got the great idea to fully automate their car wash. As

pulled through the tunnel and machines sprayed soap on them, big brushes scrubbed them, nozzles rinsed
them,
and giant blowers dried them. Needless to say, this was a big hit! Soon, many other car wash owners
Today’s car washes are literally cleaning machines. They not only wash all five sides of the car at once,
but
scrub tires and wash the undercarriage as well. They are more Eco-friendly, with milder soaps and lower

and electric requirements. Many of the newer car washes even have express tunnels that get your car

quickly, all of which leads to more clean cars and happier car owners.
CONSTRUCTION DETAILS:
combination of the reciprocating action of a rubber, thermoplastic or Teflon diaphragm(check valve, butterfly valves,
Working:
• A diaphragm water pump uses the same principles to operate as the cylinders on your vehicle’s engine.
• When the diaphragm flexes, the pressure inside the pump lowers, which draws in fluid.
• Depending on your water pump, the diaphragm might use different methods to flex.
• When it is flexed back, the liquid is forced out of the pump the other way, and in so continues to draw in and
• Many diaphragm pumps will include check valves to keep the liquid from flowing backward in the pump.
What is a pressure washer?
A pressure washer or power washer is a high-pressure mechanical sprayer used to remove loose paint, mold, grime,
dust, mud, and dirt from surfaces and objects such as buildings, vehicles and concrete surfaces. The volume of a
pressure washer is expressed in gallons or liters per minute, often designed into the pump and not variable.
Working:
• Pressure washers are part garden hose and part air compressor.
• A typical pressure washer has either a gas-fueled engine or electrical powered motor that powers a water pump.
• The pump accelerates the water, supplied from a garden hose, to produce high pressure.
• The washer is hooked to a high pressure-rated hose. At the end of the hose is a water gun that looks similar to the pressure
guns used at car washes.
• When the trigger is pulled, the water mixes with the air and comes out of the nozzle.
PROCEDURE:
• First of all, accumulate all the components to make this portable washer.
• Take 12 volt diaphragm water pump and place it on the box, fix to it as per our
convenience.
• Stick the switch to the box.
• Make necessary connections among battery diaphragm and switch and
soldering it.
• Joint the pipes to the both sides of a diaphragm and water pump.
• Take the pressure gun and join with one of outlet pipe end
Advantages:
• It requires no power.
• Compact to store.
• Efficient performance.
• Consumes less water.
• Affordable.
• Neat and compact to carry.
• It has powerful motor.
