Plant fiber are used as raw materials for
clothing. Jusi from pineapple, linen from flax and cotton fibers are best in making Barong Tagalog, gowns, dresses and towels. Hemp (abaca), cord grass, pandan and buri are used to make footwear and native bags. Fuel
Dried woods, leaves, twigs and peelings can be
used to make fire. Wood and rice hulls (ipa) are used as fuel in heating and cooking. Building Materials
Narra and coco lumber are used in building
houses, street posts, boats and furniture. The leaves and barks of trees are made into paper.
