 An interview with Shin Min-a and Kim Seon-ho about

their newest drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” for

Netflix Korea

Interviewer: Hello. We are so happy to have you here. Can you please introduce
yourself?
Shin Min-a: Hi, Netflix Korea. I’m Shin Min-a.
Kim Seon-ho: Hi, I’m Kim Seon-ho.
Interviewer: What kind of show is “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”?
Shin Min-a: I’m a dentist, Yoon Hye-jin in that show. She’s a person who’s very clumsy but
lovely.
Kim Seon-ho: I’m Chief Hong Du-sik in the show. Whenever something happens to folks in the
town, he’s always there to save them.
Interviewer: What kind of show do you usually watch?
Kim Seon-ho: Comedy or romance. The good thing about Netflix is that you can watch
interesting movies like ” Sweet Home” or “ The School Nurse Files”. I watched all of them
because of my friend , Joo-hyeok. I was surprised at how great the quality was. As I watch
Netflix I find myself trying out new genres like fantasy and action.
Shin Min-a: There’s a lot of genres or original series on Netflix and I love that. There’s so
many great shows so I can choose one that I feel like watching that day.
Kim Seon-ho: I can’t sleep because of Netflix. When I watch something I need to watch the
whole series.
Shin Min-a: I set a time and keep up that.
Kim Seon-ho: Cool!
Shin Min-a: I try not to overwhelm myself.
Kim Seon-ho: But aren’t you curious?
Shin Min-a: Then I’ll watch just one more episode.
Kim Seon-ho: That’s Yoon Hye-jin, 90%.
( Both laughing)
Interviewer: Which is your most favourite show?
Kim Seon-ho: Of course, “Start-up”, because I was in it. Other than that, I liked “Wonder”.
It’s so.. Sad but has lessons to learn. A kid who’s always wearing a helmet goes out to the
world. As I watched that I realized there’s more beauty on the inside. The kid was such a
good actor. Everything he said struck my heart. I think it’s something we should all watch.
Shin Min-a: Mine is “The Two Popes”. It’s already a very well-known work based on a
true story. The two actors were so great. As an actress myself it was inspiring and the story
was great.
Interviewer: Why did you choose “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”?
Shin Min-a: I wanted to go back to romantic comedy. Then I came cross this and it was so
funny so I choose this.
Kim Seon-ho: I liked the comfortable and relaxed feeling of ordinary settings. Above all, I
heard Min-a will be there so I had to participate.
Interviewer: Is there a fun episode to share?
Shin Min-a: We’re always in a good mood when we shoot. Everyday is so fun. There’s a
scene where lots of people sing together and we all had a blast.
Kim Seon-ho: I mentioned this earlier but she’s into abbreviations these days…
Shin Min-a: Stop it~
Kim Seon-ho: … “Man-kwan-bu”, “PSU”.
Shin Min-a: I didn’t come up with that.
Kim Seon-ho: What was it?
Shin Min-a: “Man-ki-bu”?
Kim Seon-ho: Yeah. I asked “What’s that?”
Shin Min-a: “Please look forward to it”
Kim Seon-ho: It’s so funny when she says it on the spot. She makes me laugh.
Interviewer: What kind of place is Gongjin?
Kim Seon-ho: Gongjin is a real town located in Pohang.
Shin Min-a: But in the show , it’s located in Gangwon-do.
Kim Seon-ho: The ocean there is really beautiful.
Shin Min-a: It’s a seaside town.
Kim Seon-ho: It’s really beautiful.
Interviewer: How was it today?
Shin Min-a: It was so fun. Thank you for inviting me today.
