Part 1: Reading Comprehension
Questions 1-8
1. Read the question first.
Which of the following statements is true about the National Maths Olympiad?

Based on the advertisement, we know that, …

2. Read all the options A,B, C


3. For every option, look for the relevant information in the text, whether:
- the statement in A,B,C not found in the text
- the statement is stated in the text BUT it is wrong or not accurate
- the statement is found in the text AND it is accurate.
4. If you are confused, look for the two wrong statements first, then
eliminate the wrong options.
Part 2: Use of English ( Grammar and Vocabulary

Questions 9-18
1. Read the whole passage, DO NOT attempt to answer the questions
without reading the whole passage
2. Be sure of the tense used in every sentence

Part 3: Reading Comprehension- Questions 19-26

1. Read the text carefully. Give attention to any word/words written in bold.
2. Please take note of the paragraph number where you are supposed to look for the
answer.

there in the text.
4. There are 4 options
- ONLY ONE is correct option
- the other 3 are wrong.
- If you are confused, look for the wrong answers first.
- Eliminate the wrong answers.
- The fewer options you have , the easier you can choose the correct answer!
Part 4: Gap-text- missing sentences – questions27-32

1. Read the text first to get the gist/ the main idea of the text.
2. Read the sentence before the missing sentence and the sentence after
the missing sentence.
3. Look for the connection between the sentences by identifying the
subject of the sentence.
