OUTLINING

LESSON 6
OBJECTIVES

1. To identify what is outlining

2. To use the tips in creating a reading outline.
OUTLINE
• Is usually in a form of a list divided into headings and
sub-headings that distinguish main points from
supporting points.
• A written plan that serves as a skeleton for the
paragraphs you write.
• A summary that gives the essential information that
will be included in a paper, book, etc.
BENEFITS OF OUTLINING
1. It gives an overview of the topic and it enables us
to see how various subtopics relate to one another.
2. Recording the information in our own words tests
our understanding of what we read.
3. It is an effective way to record needed information
from reference books you do not own.
2 TYPES OF OUTLINE
1. WRITING OUTLINE-is what you make
before you write an essay.

2. READING OUTLINE- is what you make

when you study a paper.
TIPS IN CREATING A READING OUTLINE

1. Read the entire text.

2. Locate the main ideas.
3. Look for key phrases.
4. Locate the topic sentence.
5. Arrange the contents according to levels.

7. Go back to the text to check whether you have followed its
sequence
TWO OUTLINING SYSTEMS
1. DECIMAL OUTLINE- is a system of decimal
notation that clearly shows how every level of the
outline relates to the larger whole.
Ideas are organized through numbers and decimals.

Moving is not easy. As Pablo Nerudo said in his poem Tonight I Can Write the Saddest
Lines, “Loving is so short; forgetting so long.” To fall in love is quick and very unpredictable,
but to recover from it takes a lot of time.

Though it is true that getting over a past relationship is hard, it is possible. The first thing
you can do is to move on by beginning to love yourself. Know your worth as a beautiful
person. It will also be nice if you strive to improve yourself. Create a better version of yourself.
Hone your skills and talents.

Another way to move on is to spend more time with loved ones. Go back to your roots.
Take time to reconnect with your family. And try to engage in family conversations more when
there are chances. Also, you can hang out with your friends. Keep posted about how your
friends are doing. And if possible, go out with them and do the things you enjoyed doing
together before like doing together before like doing a movie marathon, eating ice cream, or
talking about random stuff.

Finally, do things that make you happy. Try recalling or identify your hobbies. Pursue your
passions. And work on your goals-your dreams that you always wanted to live in.

Indeed, moving on is not easy, but it is possible. You will remember the person, the
feeling, and the memories every now and then. The road to fully move on from a past
relationship is a long and an uneasy one. But step-by-step, you can get there.
