Introduction
Various kinds techniques have been used in the construction of precast connection and
some the techniques used are based on the New Zealand handbooks in precast
connection guidelines, but majority of the design of precast connection are generally
made for large structures. The aim of this study is to Develop a new technique that will
provide a better precast connection not just for large structure but also for low rise
structures with these new development in the Skeletal Frame Connection of Precast
Concrete we intend to the Confined Splice Technique.

Introduction
One of the most common practice of designing a Vertical Structure is the use of
Reinforced Concrete because of its Strength, Durability, and Economical Aspect. In
designing RC structures, an important aim is to prevent collapse due to brittle shear
failure but different types of design of shear reinforcement is being used and some of
them are the conventional method which lacks the capacity and may lead to brittle shear
failure. Many shear failure tests of RC beams have been carried out to clarify the effects
of various parameters (such as size, amount of reinforcement and material strength) on
shear failure strength. As per the ACI Code and NSCP 2015 or the National Structural
Code of the Philippines states that shear capacity evaluation equation considering both
concrete contribution and shear reinforcement contribution.

Introduction
The harsh environment makes the use of steel reinforcement in concrete structures
problematic on account of corrosion. The probability of corrosion damage will significantly
increase in the years to come and will become a major problem not only in coastal regions
but also in inland parts due to increasing carbon dioxide concentration, temperature, and
relative humidity as a consequence of climate change. In the last two decades, glass fiber-
reinforced polymer (GFRP) composite bars have become an alternative to steel
reinforcement for reinforcing concrete structures exposed to harsh environments. The
reinforcing material is noncorrodible, nonmagnetic, lightweight, and has high tensile
strength, thus making it a viable reinforcing material for concrete structures.
Advantages of FRP
High longitudinal tensile strength
Corrosion resistance
High fatigue endurance
Lightweight(about 1/5 to 1/4 the density of steel)
Low thermal and electric conductivity
Objective of the Study
This study aims to provide a better understanding on how different types of shear reinforcement
behaves. The objectives of this study can be categorized into the following:

1. Provide a better understanding on how different types of Shear reinforcement behaves and
evaluate the capacity of each type of shear reinforcement.
2. Reduce the high density of shear reinforcement while enhancing shear capacity considering
large earthquake action.
3. Evaluate the difference in internal crack pattern and spreading deformation behavior
according to shear reinforcement shape.
Objective of the Study
This study aims to provide a better understanding on how different types of shear reinforcement
behaves. The objectives of this study can be categorized into the following:

1. Provide a better precast moment resisting frame connections by eliminating the use of Corbels
and temporary shoring.
2. Reduce the labor cost in constructing structural frame using pre-cast skeletal frame system using
confine splice method.
3. Evaluate the connectivity of the tension bars from the lap slice which will control the dimension
of the wet joint.
Objective of the Study
This study aims to provide a better understanding on how different types of shear reinforcement
behaves. The objectives of this study can be categorized into the following:

1. Provide a better understanding on how FRP rebar will behave on an SMRF Structure.
2. Increase the Beam Flexural Capacity for a better and Longer Span of Beam Construction &
Provide a better Architectural Features.
3. Understand the Yielding property of FRP for a Better Design.
