What is Oral
Communication?
Oral communication is the exchange of information
and ideas through spoken word. It can be directly in
person in a face-to-face interaction or through an
electronic device such as a phone, video platform or
radio.
What is Multimedia?
The term multimedia comes from two Latin words:

multi means multiple or many


media refers to means of communication
Therefore, multimedia is a combination of
many and different types of means of
communication.

Text
This refers to the words, sentences and
paragraphs, just like what you are reading
in books, newspapers, magazines, text
messages and the likes.
Audio
This is about the sound elements.

Sound elements include the useof


speech, music and sound effects.
Video
This refers to the recording
of moving visual images.
Graphics
This shows the illustration
of ideas through still
pictures.
Animation
This refers to the recording
of moving visual images.
Multimedia resources come in many forms. It can be
your newspaper or magazine, your computer, your
smartphone, your tablet, your camera, your radio, and
the likes. You can use any or combination of these
multimedia resources in giving information, giving
instructions and in making explanations.
For instance, you can use these multimedia resources in giving
information.
On the other hand, programs and apps in
the computer can be used in giving
instructions and in making explanations.
A few examples of these are the use of
graphics or pictures, tables, charts, and
PowerPoint presentations.
