Introduction
Employment Readiness is the state where the students
will be able:

• to function independently or with a little help


• to receive instruction with a level of difficulty or
engagement from a business

- (Ward, 2015)
As of July 2015, Philippine Statistics Office:
6 .5 % unemployment
21 % underemployment

National Statistics Office (2014)*


21.6 % of unemployed workers are college
graduates.

Objectives of the Study
Assess the respondents based on:
• Self-sufficiency
• Soft Skills
• Understanding Stresses, and
Challenges attached to
employment.

years old
b. Three-fourths representing 70 or 71.47 composed of
female
c. Almost 97.96 % were still single.

Conclusion 1
Students of business administration are typically
young, female dominated and mostly single.
The academic activities and linkages are
adequate to augment employment readiness of
the respondent - business administration
students while moderately adequate when it
comes to extra-curricular activities.

What is the level of employment readiness of
business administration students of Urdaneta
City University in the following areas:
a. self-sufficient for employment;
b. soft skill for performing the job; and
c. understanding particular stresses and
challenges?

respondents are ready to perform the
tasks and meet the challenges and stress

students across the variable, age and sex?

the levels of employment readiness and
the profile variables, age and sex of the
respondents – Business Administration
students.

The levels for employment readiness of
the respondents – Business
Administration students are the same
regardless of their age or sex.

employment readiness of business administration
students and their profile variables, age and sex?

There is no significant relationship in the
levels of employment readiness and the
profile variable – age while it shows that
there is a significant relationship
between the levels of employment
readiness and the profile variable – sex of
the respondents – Business
Administration students.

profile variable only differs in
terms of sex.

Conclusion 5
There are problems encountered by the
respondents – Business Administration
students in their preparation for employment
on their personal basis and on the part of the
university. However, all these problems are just
minimal in nature.
Recommendation 1

The University should undertake


regular evaluation on academic,
extra-curricular and linkages to
determine areas for improvement.
Recommendation 2
The respondent – Business
Administration students should effort to
make themselves very ready for
employment.
The business administration students
should endeavor to enhance their readiness
for employment by attending fora or
symposiums designed to enhance their
employment readiness.
Recommendation 3
The University should endeavor to
forge linkages with firms with high
potential of recruiting and absorbing
new employees.
Other studies should be undertaken
on employment readiness pf graduating
students using other variables and wider
venue.
