CONCEPT
Global Youth Speak Forum
Morocco | 2016

GLOBAL Global Youth Speak Forum is an event organized by AIESEC, that

takes place twice a year in multiple locations around the world,
YOUTH SPEAK bringing top young leaders together with business leaders, thought
FORUM leaders and experts for a conversation around youth contribution to
the global agenda. The aim is to generate actionable ideas that will
impact the world.

We make this happen by taking delegates through the unique

interactive framework of Inspire, Engage, Act.

International Congress is the annual convening of AIESEC and its

members from 126 countries and territories, aimed at celebrating
youth leadership, cultural diversity and global togetherness. It is also
designed to provide space for AIESEC’s leaders to learn, develop
and acquire knowledge necessary to push the organization forward.

Every five years an extraordinary International Congress takes place,

GLOBAL the one that shapes AIESEC’s future for the next five years. The
previous one took place in 2010 in India and this year India will host
YOUTH SPEAK it again. Top AIESEC’s leaders from across the world will come
FORUM together to make a new 5-year plan. In AIESEC, we call this our new
mid-term ambition or AIESEC 2020.

TOPICS
TOPICS
Technological Transformation,
Sustainability & Global Citizenship

This year we chose 3 main topics that impact young

people and today’s world.

We will focus all of our discussions on: Technological
Transformation, Sustainability and Global Citizenship

TECHNOLOGICAL Imagine that the year is now 2020. Life has never been

more exciting. Such a vast array of information is now
TRANSFORMATION accessible, and, more importantly, useful, to the citizens of
the world. Advancements in massive-scale, deep learning,
and predictive analytics technologies make this all possible.

New technologies and innovations are constantly changing

and improving the way we do things and approach
problems. Processes, institutions and industries that have
been around and unchanged for decades are now being
rethought and redesigned with the aid of technology. We’ll
look more deeply into some of the top technological
transformation and trends.

SUSTAINABILITY The world’s population of 7 billion is likely to increase to 9 billion by
2050. The demand for diminishing natural resources is growing.
Income gaps are widening. What does a sustainable future actually
look like?

“Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the

present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet
their own needs.” - 1987’s Brundtland Report

We will examine the many facets of sustainability - sustainable

development, resilience, sustainable entrepreneurship, Triple Bottom
Line, corporate social responsibility, and how they intersect, zooming
in on some key issues, breaking it down by sector. Looking ahead, we
will identify what changes are needed to make the transition from the
Millennium Development Goals to the Sustainable Development
Goals, and the role of youth across sectors in making the goals a
reality.
GLOBAL Global citizenship typically defines a person who places their identity
with a "global community" above their identity as a citizen of a
CITIZENSHIP particular nation or place. The idea is that one’s identity transcends
geography or political borders and that the planetary human
community is interdependent and whole; humankind is essentially one.

In recent years, globalization has led to unprecedented levels of

change in areas from the economy to the environment, from the way
we do business to the way we interact with media. As the pace of
globalization continues to increase, new opportunities and challenges
will arise for leaders and communities.

While globalization has brought immense benefits to many sectors,

certain countries and individuals remain vulnerable, whose interests
should be protected and promoted. How can societies best approach
the challenges this presents?
“The Forum generates the YouthSpeak
output of concrete ideas and actions.”
