 ABSTRACK
● Learning English in class is often carried out in a conventional way such as explaining using a whiteboard,
doing practice exercises with pen and paper, and memorizing material from a book / dictionary. Such
conventional teaching and learning processes often make students bored and feel the material presented is
difficult to understand. One way that can be used to overcome this problem is to create a tool that uses
technology, such as games. Gra-Pe Warrior game which has an adventure game concept with penguins as the
main character where each level of the player must answer questions about grammar. Gra-Pe Warrior game
has become a new learning that further increases motivation in learning. This is evidenced by the results of a
descriptive questionnaire test which shows that> 90% of respondents are interested because learning in the
form of games is more interesting because it is equipped with several questions about grammar at each door
when leveling up.

INTRODUCTIO
English has become one of the compulsory subjects in education, namely: for students (schools) and
students (Universities). One of the Colleges in townN
Palembang, namely Musi Charitas Catholic University
(UKMC) also uses English as a compulsory subject for all students in each Study Program. Learning English
in the classroom is often carried out in a conventional way such as explaining using a whiteboard, doing
practice questions with pen and paper, and memorizing / learn material from a book or dictionary.
Conventional teaching and learning process like that often makes students bored and feels the material
presented is difficult to understand. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it can be concluded that there is
a need for something new in learning English that is more interactive, interesting, varied, and raise
enthusiasm / motivation in learning.

LITERATURE
Research [17] made an android game called Edugame and this game is an educational game that
introduces a series of activities such as wording, the introduction of letters or mathematical operations to
children. At this game design stage using UML and its implementation using the android platform. This game
is suitable for children aged 3-7 years so that children can learn freely and creatively. Further game
development is carried out by creating, designing, and developed "Tales of Mamochi". This game is an RPG
game with a partner named Mamochi who helps players to fight monsters. Tales of Mamochi has special
features such as character selection, book collection, battle (PVE), crafting, mamochi evolution, farm,
cooking and quest using 2-dimensional graphics. In addition to 2-dimensional games, researchers [14]
developed an android game called "SNAFDROID" with 3D graphics that will make the game play more
interesting.

 V Conclusion

The conclusions that can be drawn from this study after the researchers succeeded in making the GraPe
Warrior game are:
● 1. The Android Game-Based English Grammar Learning Application has been successfully created by
using Unity3d tools equipped with several questions regarding grammar in each door when leveling up.
● 2. Game Gra-Pe Warrior has become a new, more interactive learning, interesting, varied, and uplifting /
motivation in learning. That matter evidenced by the results of descriptive questionnaire testing which
shows that > 90% of respondents are interested because learning in the form of games is more
interesting.
