RETOSION AND REPRISAL
EMBARGO- legal prohibition by a government or group of governments
restricting the departure of vessels or movement of goods from some or all locations to
one or more countries
BOYCOTT- is a technique of economic coercion that involves the refusal to
engage in certain economic interactions, particularly in buying or handling of goods and
services from a target entity, typically for political reasons.
NON-INTERCOURSE- refusal of a state to engage in diplomatic or
commercial relations with another state. It is a hostile act of retaliation for some wrong
and is intended to effect redress.
PACIFIC BLOCKADE- an operation involving naval and air forces by
which a belligerent completely prevents movement by sea from or to a port or coast
belonging to or occupied by an enemy belligerent
