Taxes are two types:

• Indirect Taxes: Excise Duty, VAT, CST etc.

Goods and Service Tax (GST) – an indirect type of tax.

countries. Each member has its own SWIFT code. Every day,
more than 40 million financial messages are exchanged
securely using the SWIFT platform.
• The SWIFT Standards group maintains several important message
standards.

• Headquartered in Belgium, SWIFT is a global member-owned


cooperative that was founded in 1973 by 239 banks from 15
countries. It went live with its messaging services in 1977,
replacing the Telex technology that was then widely used by
banks to communicate instructions related to cross-border
transfers.

announced measures to block selected Russian banks from
the SWIFT payments system

INDIAN ACCOUNTS IN JANUARY,
SAYS REPORT
• WhatsApp received grievances against 495 Indian accounts which
appealed to ban 285 accounts, out of which 24 were banned
• Mobile messaging platform WhatsApp banned 18.58 lakh Indian
accounts in January on the basis of complaints received from
users through its grievances division and the company's own
mechanism to prevent and detect law violators, according to a
monthly report published on Tuesday.
• WhatsApp received grievances against 495 Indian accounts which
appealed to ban 285 accounts, out of which 24 were banned.

• The majority of the 18.58 lakh accounts were banned based on


harmful behaviour detected through tools and resources
deployed by the company in its app.
