( United Kingdom or UK ) occupies
all of the island of Great Britain,
the north-eastern portion of the

England , Scotland , Wales , and
Northern Ireland, as well as several
islands protectorates. The capital

Although police agencies are independence, there
are similarities in the act. it’s caused by :
• There is an oath of office
• The education center is funded by central and
local government
• There is a Police National where educate all
police agencies
• There is a police federation which unite the
aspirations to the Minister of Home Affairs

There are some special police in England that have
multiple jurisdiction :

• Airport Constabulary

• Military Police (Royal Navy Police, Royal Marines Police,

POLICE REFORM IN ENGLAND

In 1829, Peel established the


Metropolitan Police Force for
London based at Scotland Yard .
The 1,000 constables
employedwere affectionately
nicknamed 'Bobbies' or, somewhat  
less affectionately, 'Peelers' (both
terms are still used today).
Although unpopular at first they
proved very successful in cutting Sir Robert Peel
crime in London, and by 1857 all
cities in the UK were obliged to 1788 - 1850
form their own police forces. “The Founder of
Modern Policing”
 
Sir Robert peel nine principles of policing

Known as the father of modern policing, Peel developed the


Peelian Principles which defined the ethical requirements
police officers must follow in order to be effective

they are not only are direct connections to policing in today's


world apparent, but often the nine principles are cited as the
basic foundation for current law enforcement organizations
and community policing throughout the world.
