Why a Policy is Needed
In conformity with Republic Act No. 11166 otherwise known as the Philippine
Comprehensive Policy on HIV and AIDS Prevention, Treatment, Care and
Support. (And) Reconstituting the Philippine National AIDS Council which
recognizes workplace-based programs as a potent tool in addressing HIV/AIDS
as an international pandemic problem, this policy is hereby issued for the
information and guidance of the employees in the diagnosis, treatment and
prevention of HIV/AIDS in the workplace.
This policy is also aimed at addressing the stigma attached to HIV/AIDS and
ensures that the workers’ right against discrimination and confidentiality is
maintained.

The Implementing Structure
Defines who are involved in the policy, and is responsible for the maintenance, update and management of
the policy.
The (Name of School / Division) HIV/AIDS Program shall be managed by its

health and safety committee consisting of the health and safety officer,
representatives from the employees, different divisions and departments.
