Overview of Learning Activity
• The core unit of instructional design is a learning activity; it organizes
a unit of time, in or out of class, to address a subset of course learning
outcomes. Learning activities vary widely, from the delivery of
knowledge (lecture) to the development of student learning skills
(problem solving). Activity design is most effective when it produces a
guide for the instructor that includes pre-planning, a plan for
presentation and facilitation, and a plan for assessment of the
learning. This module provides a table of more than fifty different
activity types. It also provides recommendations for selecting the
activity types that are best done inside or outside of class.
Learning Activity Sheet (LAS)
What is Learnig Activity Sheet

 As an assessment tool, worksheets can be used by teachers to

understand students' previous knowledge, outcome of learning, and
the process of learning; at the same time, they can be used to enable
students to monitor the progress of their own learning.
Learning Activity Sheet (LAS)
What is Learning Activity Sheet?
 The CO establishes standards for the development of LAS in order to
align regional efforts with those of the central office in terms of
providing high-quality learning resources that facilitate modular
distant learning.Teachers may prepare and develop LASs under the
supervision of division learning area supervisors and school leaders.
Teachers will benefit from the LAS since they will be able to choose
activities that are best appropriate for their students. This will also
solve a lack of funding for printing as well as the potential of copyright
infringement.
What is the importance of a LAS
 Worksheets can be used by teachers as an assessment tool to
comprehend students' prior knowledge, learning outcomes, and
learning processes, and they can also be used by students to track
their own learning progress. ... The features of questions are essential
considerations in worksheets.
It's also critical that each activity is relevant and contributes to
student development and progression throughout the unit. Students
should be able to engage with and develop their skills, information,
and understandings in a variety of ways. Activities should build on
previous activities and avoid being repetitive.

Rounding Numbers o the nearest Thousand and Ten Thousand

Background Information for Learners
brief discussion of the lesson, cite examples

What is rounding numbers?

Rounding numbers mean adjusting the digits to make rough
calculations easier. The result will be an stimated answer rather than a
precise one.
Example:…………
Directions/ Instructions

It is important to make your directions or instructions clear and concise

to the learners for their independent learning.

Round the following numbers to the nearest indicated place value

Exercises/ Activities

Make your activity engaging and interesting . We have different kinds

of exercises or activities that our students enjoy whle learning even at
home.

A. Fill in the blank to complete the rounding of whole numbers. Write the final answer.

B. Round the following number to the nearest thousand

C. Round the following numbers to the nearest ten thousand

Guided Questions (if necessary )

It is essential that our LAS has guide questions. It is another form of

assessment on how much they’ve learned with the lesson. It provides
an assessment on learners KSAVs ( open ended question )
Rubric for grading ( if necessary )

This rubric for grading will assess student’s performance or work. It s

important in the grading process for both teachers and students for
consistent and fair assessment and grading. This rubric will allow the
students to reflect on their work and focus on how to improve in the
future.
Reflection
The use of reflective learning embedded in multimodal assessment
should not only direct feedback process but also promote personal
reflection processes where learners reflect more on their knowledge
skills, attitudes/values, aspirations and actions as contribution in the
making the society a better place for all. This allows learners to think
what they have thought, read, seen, done and learned by relating
these concrete concepts to their own lives.
How do we round numbers?
Why do we round numbers? Will it help us in our daily lives? If Yes,
why?
References for Learners
Learning materials are important because they can significantly
increase student’s achievement by supporting student learning.

Answer Key
According to research, the use of answer keys affects the learning
of Math for academically weak stdents. Answer keys specially ones
that include the steps used to arrive at the answers, could
potentially improve the the learning of Math, as it would provide
students with a model solution that they could access in order to
learn how to solve questions that they might not otherwise have
been able to complete. It is also the same thing with other subjects
