Changes in the attitude of Indian
consumers
•The attitude of Indian consumers has undergone a major
transformation over the last few years.

•The people of metro are open to the idea of consumption


and a better lifestyle.

•The consumption pattern of a country depends on


liberalization of economic policies, buying habits of the
younger generation,
•financial independence at a young age,

•Increase in number of nuclear families and

•Increase in media exposure of the people.

•The tastes and preferences of the current generation


are changing rapidly

Earlier we had limited options to choose


from , now we got choice in each and
everything that we buy.

Use of Plastic Money instead of cash.

Any Time Money through ATM.

Earlier we use to pay the money and then


get the product & now we can get the
product with the help of pivotal financial
schemes.
Eating more junk and restaurant food than home
made food.

Earlier we use to ply board games or 8 bit games


now we play 3d games , motion sensing games (
X Box, etc. ).

Now our mind start catching up words like


quality, quantity & price rather before it was just
appearance.

Earlier railways was considered to be the


premium mode of travel but now a
Earlier we use to go single screen theaters to
watch movie, now we go to multiplex and
decide which movie to watch .

Earlier we use to watch movies on VCR but now


we have multiple sources like laptops,
DVD players, mobile phones , etc

Earlier we use to buy cassets to hear songs on


walkmans but now I download songs to
hear on I pods and on my phones.

Earlier majority of houses have landline


connection now every person is carrying a
mobile phones .

new stuff but our parents were not being

We use social media more than our


parents .

Parents are price conscious we are more

but we are more machine dependent.

•CONSUMERS ARE SHIFTING FOCUS TOWARDS LCD AND
PLASMA TV FROM NORMAL TV, LAPTOP FROM PC,
LUXURIOUS CARS FROM SMALL CARS.
•E BOOKS HAVE IMPRESSED US IN THE PAST FEW
YEARS AND WE ALL HAVE BEEN ORDERING IT ONLINE
AND READING IT.
•PREVIOUSLY WE AWE HAVE STARTED PREFERING
MULTICINEPLEX INSTEAD OF NORMAL 1 SCREEN MOVIE
HALL.
•LL WENT TO A LOCAL MARKET WHERE WE USED TO
FIND SOME LOCAL AS WELL AS BRAND PRODUCTS BUT
WITH THE MALL CULTURE POURING IN WE ALL FEEEL
IT CONVIENIENT TO SHOP UNDER ONE ROOF.
•THE TWO WHEELER INDUSTRY HAS PICKED UP IN THE
PAST 5 YEARS WHERE THE ROLE OF BRANDED
FOOTWARE HAS INCREASED
•THE MMARKET FOR HEALTH DRINK HAS INCREASED
OF LATE WITH NUMBER OF BRANDS ENTERING
INTO THE MARKET
•PEOPLE HAVE STARTED PURCHASING DIAMONDS
INSTEAD OF GOLD
