GOOD AFTERNOON!

- Be on time in our Online Class.(3 minutes

before the class).
- Be Attentive and be a good listener.
- Be Participative in our discussion.
- Click the raise hand button, wait to call your
name, and speak.
RULES - Always open your camera.
AND - Be honest.
REGULATIO - Pass your work on time.
What talks about solving
What are the considered properties or equality or
inequality before you can solve an equality or inequality?
equality or inequality?

REVIEW
PROPERTIES of EQUALITY PROPERTIES of INEQUALITY
Solving equality and inequality is finding
the value of the variables that will satisfy
- Addition Property of Equality (APE) the equality- or inequality.
Axiom of Comparison
- Multiplication Property of Equality (MPE) - Transitive Property of Inequality
- Reflexive Property - Additional Property of Inequality (API)
- Symmetric Property of Equality (SPE) - Multiplication Property of Inequality (MPI)
I’m going to flash pictures and all you have
to do is to identify it in a fastest way.

If you know the answer, just click your raise

hand button, wait to call your name and state
GAME TIME…
your answer quickly.

Every correct answer is equal to 1 point.

At the end of our lesson, the student who has
the highest points will be given a reward.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a)describe the undefined terms;

b)give examples of objects that maybe used to represent the
undefined terms;
c)name the identified point(s), line(s), and plane(s) in a given
figure; (M7GE-IIIa-1)
“The Basic Concepts and Terms in Geometry”

Lesson 1
Euclidean Geometry

the geometric terms point, line,

and plane are all undefined terms
and are purely mental concepts
or ideas. However, we can use
concrete objects around us to
represent these ideas, and make
it abstract for you to better
understand the concepts of
geometry. Thus, these undefined
terms can only be described.
Guide Questions:
1. What are the three undefined terms?
2. What is the representation of each undefined term?
3. What is/are the description of each undefined term?
4. What are the given examples object in each undefined
term?
5. How to name/notation of each undefined term?
Answer the guide questions by filling out the table below.
I’ll give you 5 minutes to finish your activity.
Undefined Representation Descriptions Example How to Name/
Term Object Notation
Here is the video watch attentively and take
down notes.

1. What are the three undefined terms?

• Point
• Line
• Plane
POINT

1. What is the representation of point?

2. What is/are the description of point?
- It is a location in space with no dimension.
- It has no length, no width, or thickness
3. What are the real-life example of point?
4. How to name/notation of a point?
- We use a capital letter to name a point.
example:
LINE

1. What is the representation of line?

- A straight line with a set of points arranged in a row.
2. What is/are the description of line?
- It is extended endlessly in both directions.
- It has two points determine a line.
3. What are the real-life example of line?
4. How to name/notation of line?
- Labeled with a single lowercase letter or it can also be labeled with two capital letters,
representing the two distinct points on the line.
- Where we can read it as Line m or Line RV.
PLANE

1. What is the representation of plane?

- it is four sided figure where it must be a flat surface.
2. What is/are the description of plane?
- A plane is a set of points in an endless flat surface.
- It has no thickness extends indefinitely in all directions.
3. What are the real-life example of plane?
4. How to name/notation of plane?
- We use a lower-case letter or three points on the plane to name the plane.
- Where we can read it as Plane PQR.
to determine a plane

a. three non-collinear points

b. two intersecting lines
c. two parallel lines
d. a line and a point not on the
line.
The three undefined terms in Plane Geometry are
point, line and plane.
CLASS ACTIVITY: objects representing the undefined
terms.

1.These are some of the objects around us that could represent a

point or line or plane.

2.All of you must comment your answer in the chat box, if the

object presented in your screen is POINT, LINE or PLANE.

3.First three to get the correct answer will gain point.

ASSIGNMENT #1
Write your answer in your module class this activity will see in page 5.
Questions to Ponder:
1. Consider the stars in the night sky. Do they represent points?
2. Consider the moon in its fullest form. Would you consider a full moon as a
representation of a point?
3. A dot represents a point. How big are dot that represents a point and a dot that
represents a circular region?
4. A point has no dimension. A line has a dimension. How come that a line composed
of dimensionless points has a dimension?
5. A pencil is an object that represents a line. Does a pencil extend infinitely in both
directions? Is a pencil a line?
