Zara (Spanish Zara is the leading retail chain of the Inditex group of companies, owned by Spanish tycoon Amancio

Ortega, who is also the owner of such brands as Massimo, Dutti,

Pull and Bear, Oisho, Zara Doma, Uterqüe, Stradivarius, Bershka and Lefties. The main office is located in La Coruna, Spain, where the first store was opened in 1975 .
All models of the brand are in stores no longer than four weeks. Thus, marketers are pushing customers
to visit the store more often.
Ortega wanted to name his brainchild Zorba, after Anthony Quinn's character in the movie Zorba the
Greek. But it was not possible to get the rights to use this name and the idea had to be abandoned.
• 1. If any model does not sell well, it is immediately withdrawn from sale, all production orders
are canceled and another design is urgently developed.

• 2. All brand models are in stores no longer than four weeks. Thus, marketers are pushing
customers to visit the store more often.

• 3. The entire production cycle of Zara clothing and footwear - from tailoring to appearance on
the shelves takes no more than two weeks.
Zara produces its most fashionable models at its own factories
in Spain and Portugal. But the base lines are manufactured in
Turkey and Asian countries.
In addition to clothing, the brand produces items for the home.
Zara Home was launched in 2003.
The company produces 800 million garments annually.
